Isn't it odd that the things you never expect to happen are the ones that actually happen?
I saw the entry for the 2024 Spiritul Arts Awards on Instagram and decided to submit one of my bird's nest assemblages. I mean how often do you see "spirituality" as a category in an art show?? The right answer is "never"in case you are struggling with that question. I can't say I blame art show organizers though. There hasn't been much interesting spiritual art since Bernini sculpted St. Theresa having her orgasm in the 1600s. (Google: The Ecstasy of St. Thersa)
But I digress. I made a submission, but then I forgot that I made a submission and one day was surprised to learn that 0my assemblage, "Spirit Nest" earned the Honourable Mention in the 3d category! So I didn't win, but gosh I sure did!
